Azzedine Ounahi
Minimal impact as playmaker
Ounahi had one inaccurate cross, two chances created, a blocked shot and an interception in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Brazil.
Analysis: Ounahi was expected to be the main link between the midfielders and the attacking line, he struggled to make an impact outside of the two chances he created. The Girona midfielder has excellent passing range and vision, however, so he should be far more active when the Atlas Lions take on Scotland on June 19, although the Scots' physicality might pose a problem for the Girona star.
Lacking end product
Ounahi took five shots (three on goal), crossed seven times (three accurate) and created three chances during Sunday's 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.
Analysis: Ounahi was held off the scoresheet despite leading Girona in shots, crosses and chances created during the defeat. The versatile Ounahi has combined for 10 shots, eight chances created and 11 crosses over his last three starts but hasn't had a goal involvement since April 21st.
Converts from the spot
Ounahi scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) and two crosses (one accurate) in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat to Betis. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 79th minute.
Analysis: Ounahi played a key role in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat against Real Betis, converting a second-half penalty into the top left corner to level the score at 2-2 after Joel Roca had been brought down in the box by Aitor Ruibal, while adding one tackle and one interception. The Moroccan has now scored five La Liga goals this season, making him one of his side's most reliable attacking contributors from midfield in a difficult campaign that has them fighting to avoid relegation.
