Still recovering from tear
De Arrascaeta suffered a muscle tear during Uruguay's World Cup preparation after joining the squad while still recovering from a previous injury, with coach Marcelo Bielsa taking responsibility for the setback and acknowledging it as something that went wrong in the management of his workload.
Analysis: De Arrascaeta is not expected to feature in the first two group stage fixtures, making his availability for the opener against Saudi Arabia on June 15 impossible. Analysis: De Arrascaeta is not expected to be available for the first two games of the group stage, so it's not surprising to see him training away from the rest of the group with the WC opener right around the corner. Facundo Pellistri and Facundo Torres could be options to take his place in the lineup in the opener against Saudi Arabia on Monday, June 15.
