Joins Schalke 04

Adamu signed with Schalke 04 from Freiburg on a contract through June 2029, the club announced.

Analysis: Adamu spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, where he won both the Scottish championship and the cup, before making the permanent move to Schalke 04. The 25-year-old Austrian international made 67 appearances for Freiburg, scoring seven goals and providing four assists, having previously made 84 appearances for RB Salzburg where he won two Austrian titles and contributed 23 goals and 11 assists. Sporting director Youri Mulder highlighted his pressing intensity, ability to make deep runs and versatility across multiple attacking positions as key factors behind the signing, describing him as a team player capable of fitting into different tactical systems.
